Young Maiden’s Daybook 1

A Young Maiden's DaybookToday… February 1, 2010. The February issue of Challenging Femininity is up. I wrote an article about Layering for it.

Outside my window… The ground’s covered in snow, it’s really cold and it’s cloudy. It’s either snowing or there’s blowing snow.

I am thinking… That there’s three things aside from this on my to-do list that I’d like to get done before 3:30 today.

I am thankful for… my parents and my siblings.

I am wearing… A light blue long sleeved top and a jean skirt.

I am reading… Daniel (CJB), They Loved the Torah by David Friedman, The Maker’s Diet by Jordan Rubin, and Elly My True Story of the Holocaust by Elly Berkovits Gross

I am creating… This blog post and I’m knitting a scarf.

One of my favorite things… Books. I love reading.

For education this week… Studying the Scriptures, Enhancing Web Pages with Javascript, and Networking and Telecommunications. I’m also going to try and plan out the courses I’m going to take for the rest of the year. Oh, and violin, piano and step dance.

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning … Baking bread, which always seems to turn out great unless I’m trying to make cinnamon rolls.

A spiritual lesson I’m learning… Patience, with siblings and others.

A godly character trait I plan to work on… Keeping my mouth shut. I don’t talk much, but sometimes I can be a bit of a “know-it-all”

Scripture I am memorizing… none currently, other than the Sh’ma

I am praying for… various things.

For the rest of the week… school work, studying the Scriptures, hopefully getting another post up, Sabbath, step dance, piano, violin

A picture I’d like to share… The hamster is “reading” the prayer of St. Francis…

Hamster "reading" prayer of St Francis

Hope you all have a wonderful week.

Hehe, you and I are so similar! I found myself relating to nearly everything you said.

How’s “They Loved the Torah”? I just ordered it off of Amazon. I too love to read. In fact, earlier this year, I finished reading “The Maker’s Diet” and enjoyed it very much.

How are your classes going? I feel led to attend online college next year, but I’m still uncertain as to which college that will be.

    Blessings!

    Love,
    Lina

      Hi Lina,

I’ve actually found the same thing reading a lot of your stuff… They Loved the Torah is pretty good. I’ve only read the first part (there are four), which goes through how Yeshua was Torah observant. It’s not what I would call an “easy” read, but it’s not like you can’t understand it either.

My classes are going pretty well. I finish two next week, then I have a break for the rest of the month of February before I start again.

      Shalom,
      Lisa
